Empowering Women in Business

Women in the business industry positively impact society. The presence of women is needed because women continue to break down barriers, shatter glass ceilings and carve out their place at the decision-making table. 

Throughout the year, the amount of women in the business industry has tremendously grown. Data shows that in 2022, women in the UK established over 150,000 new companies, which is more than double as of 2018. Additionally, data shows 20.5% of all new companies incorporated in the same year were all female-led. 

Although women have accomplished so much in this industry, they still face many challenges. For example, the COVID-19 pandemic had a disproportionately negative effect on women due to the caring load. Men were more likely than women to gain funding across every industry sector. 

Gender bias stereotypes have always been the most common obstacles facing women in business. The struggle of balancing personal and professional responsibilities often falls disproportionately on the shoulders of women. Many individuals believe it is an outdated narrative, but it is clear that society as a whole is yet to catch up. Empowering women in business is extremely important to inspire other women and make them feel heard.
